Fangen wir doch am Anfang an. Einst waren Feeds das technische Rückgrad des Web2.0.

Was wurde hierdurch möglich? Unabhängig von Device konnte jeder, der ein Feed abonnierte davon in Kenntnis gesetzt werden, dass neue Informationen bereit stehen. Das war praktisch für den Bezieher eines Feed. Media Enclosures wie zum Beispiel Aufio, Video oder Texte konnten auch automatisch bezogen werden. Podcasts, Vodcasts, Screencasts, Picture Casts … waren geboren.

Es gab noch einen zweiten Vorteil für Produzenten von Inhalten: Auf den Schultern von RSS war es möglich plattformübergreifend die Inhalte zu verbreiten und zum Beispiel Inhalte und Kommentare wieder zurückzubinden.

Was ist jedoch mit Plattformen die nur Lesen, jedoch keine RSS-Feeds generieren?

Das mag sinnvoll erscheinen aus der Marktperspektive. Man ‚bindet‘ somit die Rezeption und damit die angestrebte Kommunikation an die Plattformen.

Aber ist damit nicht auch ein Ende der ursprünglichen Öffnung des Netzes verbunden?

Die neueste Weiterentwicklung von iTunesU birgt jede Menge neue Gestaltungsräume. Aber die Nutzung scheint zunehmend auf das Experience iOS ausgerichtet. Nachvollziehbar, dass man hier den mobilen Devices aus eigener Herstellung einen unique value gestaltet. Aber das Nichtbereitstellen von Feeds birgt auch Probleme: Wie können nicht iOs Anwender von diesen Inhalten profitieren? Anders herum gefragt: Wie rechtfertigt man allgemeinen Distributionssaufwand, der sich auf ein device eines Herstellers beschränkt? Ein RSS-Feed hätte einen Ausweg aus dem argumentativen Dilemma geboten, da hier auf der Basis von Open Usable Standards auch Open Content Distribution verknüpft worden wären. Kann man das so sehen, dass sich hier Open Content in eine ‚Closed Plattform‘ bewegt?

Wie seht Ihr das? Welche Strategie würdet Ihr empfehlen?

Its about my an idea which came up at the AG-Podcasting-Team and therefore i will repeat this post here:

Miriam, freshly entered the AG Podcasting, was brainstorming about topics and possible activities in our podcast. As in most kick-off phase – every semester, when the AG Podcasting starts with new students on board, it’s time to present the genious fragment of the work of Bob Sprankles former class in Room 208. It still can be seen here. I often use this piece of digital memory as well ass reflection and or as motivation reasons.

About the context: It’s about Mr. S. and the students concept of podcasting in room 208 in a real school in a real class. Its done in 2006 an often I think about how maybe the student’s remember to this time.

But – back to our story. Miriam got the idea: Wouldn’t it be a cool idea to start something like a switch over podcast between future educators – educational scientists and nower students? That idea is as great as I can imagine. I promized to take this idea as a starting point to look out for potenital partners. As well as I got her point right my brain was buzzing and i decided to post this here, looking out for potential partners in far away regions for a collective developing story. So, who’s on board?
